DEAR IRELAND 3

Abbey Theatre | 2020

Cuireann Amharclann na Mainistreach fáilte roimh an ngrúpa drámaíochta, Garraí an Ghiorria, ar an Déardaoin beag seo ag 7.30i.n. ar an stáitse náisiúnta.

Craolfar an píosa, Freagairt ar an Paindéim, mar chuid den togra, Dear Ireland 3, a thugann deis do mhionlaigh a nglórtha a chloisteáil.

Le linn agallaimh beirte nua-aimsireach, déanann Beartla O’Flaharta agus Marina Ní Dhúbháin comhrá faoi thionchar Covid-19 ar phobal na Gaeilge ar fud na tíre agus iad scaipthe amach óna chéile.

Dear Ireland is a project created by the Abbey Theatre as a response to the COVID-19 crisis.

This event will be streamed from the Abbey on Thursday 17 December at 7.30pm across Facebook and Social media.

A theatre group from the West of Ireland, the Garraí an Ghiorria collective, was invited by the Abbey to respond to the current crisis. Two performers shoot the breeze about Covid’s  impact on rural communities as their creative response to this invitation.

The core aim of Dear Ireland is to engage the community with theatre and bring everyone together. The third instalment of the series, Dear Ireland III, will be a series of three minute postcards from underrepresented voices in Irish society that highlight the hopes, experiences, and challenges facing Ireland at this moment.

The Abbey hopes to create an ongoing ‘national moment’ where each corner of the country can partake in the shared feeling we get when we settle into our seats as the lights go down and the curtain rises on a production.
